FILE TRAFFIC REPORTER
Copyright (C) 1994 Douglas Baxter
Description :
This small utility is designed primarily for PCB systems which generate
a log of the file transfers. TRAFFIC will read the log and gather info
which it will use to create a colorful PCB bulletin with @codes. It
will also make a quick report that is displayed on the screen during the
read process.
License :
TRAFFIC is SHAREWARE. It is fully functional and NOT crippled in any
way. However, registering will remove the 'UnReg' notices as well as
the small ad for SOLITUDE BBS. You are given 30 days to evaluate this
product. If you decide to register please refer to the REGISTER.TXT
file. The fee is only $5.00. If you do not want to register the
utility them it must be deleted after the evaluation period.
Disclaimer :
TRAFFIC has been tested on SOLITUDE BBS prior to release. However,
there is no warranty with this package. Use it at your own risk as
with all shareware products. The author cannot be held accountable
for damages (software/hardware).
Set-up :
Please follow the step-by-step instructions. You will need to have
a simple text editor available.
1 - Copy ALL the files into the DIRectory you wish them to reside in.
To avoid copying over an existing log create a NEW DIRectory for
this utility.
2 - Change to that DIRectory and run SETUP.EXE.
3 - You may delete the DOWNLOAD.LOG or use it to TEST your installation.
It is important to note that the TRAFFIC.CNF file can readily be
altered by a standard ASCII text editor!
4 - See REGISTER.TXT for info on getting a key.
5 - TRAFFIC is set-up. To call it you need to add the following lines
to your $$LOGOFF.BAT file. Keep in mind that you must specify the
DIRectory you placed the files in and the path/filename of YOUR
download log (Not the sample).
cd\pcb
traffic<c:\logs\download.log
NOTE : If you have NOT tested the program using the sample log this is
a good time!
Let me explain the call. The less than (<) sign tells traffic what
file to process. The path and filename after the '<' show the
location and name of YOUR log. You already knew this :)
NOTE : NEVER use a greater than (>) sign in place of the proper less
than (<) sign to call this program!
6 - The bulletin will be created under the name of XFER.TXT in the
DIRectory that TRAFFIC resides in. You must tell your PCBoard
where to find this Bulletin. Use the PCBSETUP and edit your
Bulletin set-up in the MAIN Board Configuration.
7 - Edit your Bulletin menus to reflect the changes.
8 - Call Solitude BBS and offer a few suggestions.
SOLITUDE BBS (1:103/513) 714-834-0711
Closing : PCBoard (C) Clark Development.
